Holy Hearth: Where Faith Takes Form

Welcome to Holy Hearth! Here in my Western Australian workshop, I combine traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques to create unique Christian gifts. I'm passionate about working with wood and bringing faith-inspired designs to life.

I specialise in crafting one-of-a-kind crosses and crucifixes from rare, old-growth Jarrah timber, a sacred wood native to the ancient forests of Western Australia.

I grew up surrounded by the timeless beauty and strength of these majestic trees. It was here, in a prominent timber milling town, that I developed a deep appreciation for the unique qualities of Jarrah, a sacred wood revered for centuries. Its rich hues, intricate grain patterns, and remarkable durability inspired me to create sacred art that would honour both my faith and the natural heritage of this extraordinary material.

My passion for Jarrah timber extends far beyond crosses and crucifixes. This sacred wood, sourced from the ancient forests of Western Australia, inspires me to create a wide range of handcrafted timber based treasures that reflect the beauty of our faith. From delicate rosaries and chaplets adorned with Jarrah beads to intricate prayer cards framed in contrasting timbers.

The Maker's Mark: Christus Rex

The four points of the crown, the hallmark of Holy Hearth, speak to a deeper truth than craftsmanship alone. They symbolise a mission to carry the light of faith to the four corners of the earth, borne on the wings of handcrafted expressions of devotion. Each piece bearing this mark is a tangible connection to a cherished tradition, bridging the past and the present, offering a path to deepen your communion with the Divine.

The crown, in its perfect geometry, proclaims:

  • Christus Rex: The four points echo the Kingship of Christ over all creation, a constant reminder of His presence in our lives, our King and our Lord.

  • The Word Made Flesh: In the Incarnation, God's beauty became tangible. These pieces are crafted to reflect that beauty, to inspire reverence, and to draw us deeper into the mystery of Christ's love.

  • Formed in His Image: We are crafted in the image and likeness of God, called to reflect His beauty and love in the world.

  • Sacred Craftsmanship: This mark signifies a dedication to excellence and a commitment to creating enduring works of beauty that honour God and nourish the soul.
